Work Package 2Capacity Buildingin Climate Resilient Farming

Mobilise the messengers. The second strand of WP2 translates the findings of the needs assessment into a hands-on Climate-Resilient Farming Handbook: a training guide for VET providers and educators on the impact of climate change on agriculture, future scenarios, and innovative coping and mitigation practices.

The Handbook equips educators to respond to the needs and misconceptions of future and existing farmers about the causes and impacts of climate change, and gives them the knowledge and tools to train them in practices that make agriculture more resilient.

Climate-Resilient Farming Handbook

Eleven chapters: three that introduce the Handbook and the research behind it, followed by eight thematic modules. Each chapter is a standalone PDF.

Train-the-Trainers Workshop

The Handbook was piloted in a Train-the-Trainers workshop at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, with 15 VET providers and educators, three from each partner country. The workshop tested the material in practice, collected participants’ feedback to refine it, and created a first cohort of dissemination ambassadors.

Impact

By turning research into hands-on resources, FarmForward empowers a new generation of agricultural educators to champion climate-resilient practices across Europe. It sparks locally relevant training that bridges the gap between research and the field, and seeds a growing network of “climate-smart” ambassadors whose collective impact reaches policy circles, training centres and farmsteads alike.

The Handbook builds on the evidence gathered in the first strand of WP2. Go to the Needs Assessment →
