The FarmForward project will spark inspiration among agricultural stakeholders by showcasing real-world successes through an “Expert Insights Series” of videos and webinars, and it will leverage those insights, alongside lessons from WP2 and WP3, to formulate a robust set of actionable Policy Recommendations for long-term sustainability


Key Results

Over the course of WP4, the consortium will produce thirty high-quality expert videos and six thematic webinars featuring innovators, field practitioners and thought leaders who exemplify cutting-edge, climate-resilient farming practices.

EPISODE 1: shows how blockchain ensures traceability, builds consumer trust, and supports sustainable practices.

EPISODE 2: focuses on aquaculture systems adapted to rising temperatures and water quality challenges, national programmes for aquaculture and local examples.

EPISODE 3: centers on irrigation efficiency, rainwater harvesting, and drought-adaptive crop planning. The expert also introduces tools for monitoring soil moisture and predicting water needs.

EPISODE 4: addresses solutions for frost and hail protection as well as integrated methods to reduce insect pressure in the context of climate change. The expert shares knowledge on how orchard management can adapt to extreme weather.

EPISODE 5: presents innovations in energy-efficient, low-emission machinery tailored to modern agricultural challenges.

EPISODE 6: discusses energy-efficient greenhouse designs, climate control technologies, and renewable-powered systems.

EPISODE 7: Early warning systems for climate risks help farmers make better decisions. Climate change is causing more frequent extreme weather events, from droughts to heavy rains, which can threaten crops and livestock.

EPISODE 8: introduces the role of agricultural robots in planting, weeding, harvesting, and monitoring, reducing labor needs and environmental impact.

EPISODE 9: explores how solar panels, biogas plants, and wind energy can reduce the carbon footprint of farms while lowering energy costs.

EPISODE 14: introduces techniques for storing carbon in soils and biomass. The expert explains how these practices contribute to climate mitigation and long-term soil health.

EPISODE 15: highlights tools and sensors for monitoring soil quality, carbon levels, and biodiversity as a basis for sustainable land management.

EPISODE 16: discusses innovative plant species and varieties that are better adapted to drought, heat, and unpredictable weather conditions. The video also highlights case studies of successful adoption across different regions, providing inspiration and practical knowledge for farmers, advisors, and educators.

EPISODE 21: adresses the the challenges Greece faces and answers what national initiatives support digital transformation in agriculture, how is AI being applied in agriculture and shares a regional success story.

EPISODE 25: This webinar focuses on the role of renewable energy in making agriculture more sustainable and resilient to climate change. Participants learn about the integration of solar, wind, and biogas systems on farms, energy-efficient technologies, and opportunities for reducing production costs through renewable energy solutions. The discussion also highlights best practices, funding opportunities, and real-life examples of farms successfully transitioning to clean energy sources.

EPISODE 26: discusses how training programs and workshops enhance future farmers (VET students) / farmers’ skills in climate resilience, and the role of VET trainers in spreading innovative practices.

EPISODE 27: The discussion centers on biological inputs that reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides while improving sustainability.











EPISODE 28: The focus is on showcasing innovative solutions created by farmers themselves. Lessons learned are highlighted to inspire peers and other stakeholders.

EPISODE 29: The video showcases how sensors, drones, and AI tools help optimize input use and reduce environmental impact. Real-life examples demonstrate efficiency gains and emission reductions through digital technologies.

EPISODE 30: The discussion highlights how farm management software and mobile apps help farmers track yields, resources, and weather conditions to improve resilience.





EPISODE 31: The video presents practical examples of how farmers are already adapting to climate challenges. The focus is on lessons learned and practices that can be transferred to other contexts.

In parallel, a comprehensive Policy Recommendations Collection will be drafted by synthesising evidence from the Needs Analysis, the Educational Resources pilots, stakeholder consultations and expert contributions; this will yield targeted guidelines designed to inform and influence agricultural education and policy across Europe.

Translations in partners’ languages

All multimedia materials and policy documents will undergo professional finalisation and be translated into the five partner languages to ensure accessibility and uptake in Lithuania, Greece, Slovenia, Poland and Bulgaria.


Impact

By combining vivid, practice-based inspiration with empirically grounded policy guidance, WP4 will catalyze a culture of innovation in the agri-food sector, motivating trainers, farmers and decision-makers alike to adopt and advocate for climate-smart practices and policies well beyond the project’s lifespan.
